This small and portable wind turbine is designed
using advances in light-weight composite materials for wind blades
and a state-of-the art vertical aerofoil design for the wind turbine.
Magnetic levitation technologies are innovatively used to reduce
friction and bearing overhead; thereby decreasing typical windmill
turbine inefficiencies and maintenance. Counter-rotating blades
are employed to nearly double the relative speed and increase
the power output. The goal is to generate at least 1000W of energy
at wind speeds of 10 MPH by the wind turbine and 1 KW/hour capacity
by the PV solar panels to maintain adequate battery charging levels read

Energy Harvesting for Sensor
Networks
Erallo has applied energy harvesting to a variety
of its networks, especially for deployments in adverse or remote
areas that may not have fixed infrastructures. Power harvesting
technology extracts energy from relatively inexhaustible ambient
sources, like wind, temperature, and vibration, to provide power
to sensor nodes and devices. Other aspects, like fuel cells, power
storage and rechargeable batteries are also carefully considered
when designing a system.
